Egyptian pound strengthens against US dollar in early June trading

The Egyptian pound continued to strengthen against the US dollar during early June trading, finishing the first week of the month just below the 52-pound mark. Official data released by the Central Bank of Egypt indicates a steady upward trajectory for the local currency over consecutive sessions.

By the close of business on Thursday, the pound traded at 51.75 for buying and 51.89 for selling. This marked an increase in value from the previous day's rates of 51.88 and 52.01, respectively, and represented an overall gain of approximately 0.34 percent since the start of the trading week.

This continued a positive trend that began to solidify earlier in the week. By Monday's close, the currency had stabilized near 52 to the dollar, trading at 51.93 to buy and 52.07 to sell. This shift already represented an improvement of over half a percent compared to the prior week's close, reflecting a sustained period of currency stabilization in the local financial market.
